Song vs Song (SvS) Unveils Updated 2025 Season Schedule — Bigger, Bolder, and Ready to Rock

April 14, 2025 — Song vs Song (SvS), the groundbreaking online league where independent artists' songs go head-to-head, has officially announced key updates to its 2025 season schedule. With an extended submission window, a revamped draft format, and a high-stakes playoff path, this year’s competition is set to be the most dynamic season yet.
SvS Submissions Round Extended:
In response to overwhelming interest from artists nationwide, SvS is extending its Submissions Round to May 20, 2025. Independent artists now have extra time to fine-tune their tracks and claim a shot at the spotlight in one of the most innovative formats in music today.
SvS Draft: June 4th–7th:
32 standout independent artists will be selected during the highly anticipated SvS Draft, taking place June 4th–7th. These artists will be drafted into 8 teams, with each team comprising a combination of rappers and singers across multiple genres.
Preseason and Regular Season Kickoff
The battle begins with two thrilling preseason matchups:
Game 1: June 28
Game 2: July 5
Immediately following, Week 1 of the Regular Season kicks off on July 12th, launching a 6-game series over a 7-week schedule. Each week, teams will go head-to-head with original songs, integrated directly with Spotify and Apple Music, allowing fans to listen and vote in real time while each match is scored by judges on the categories of Lyrics, Instrumental, and Radio Readiness. Votes and judges' scores are combined to determine match winners. The team that wins the most matches, which equates to points, wins the game.
Playoffs & U.S. Championship:
At the end of the regular season, the top 4 teams will advance to the high-stakes SvS Playoffs, beginning with the Silver Mic on August 29th and Golden Mic on Aug 30th. The season climaxes with the championship game, SvS SUPER MIC on August 30, where the two remaining teams will battle for the crown and a career-changing opportunity.
"We want our players to focus on competitiveness no different than an athlete. The only difference is these are Music-Sports athletes, a digital athlete, but with the same mindset of a traditional athlete, which is to win championships. All he perks from being in the league will come as long as they're are focused on song-competitiveness throughout the season, so that's why we're not revealing the grand prize to the championship team until the playoffs," says MPSL Commissioner Juan A. Thompson.
